Proform Crosswalk 850 Elliptical Trainer Review

Posted by Elliptical Review Site on June 24, 2009 under Elliptical Products, Elliptical Reviews | Be the First to Comment

ProForm Crosswalk 8.0 Elliptical Trainer

proformcrosswalk

$799 (sale)

The Proform Crosswalk 850 is a completely new type of elliptical from Proform.  This elliptical machine’s center-drive design gives it a smooth, more balanced feel.  It has two side flywheels as opposed to one (most elliptical trainers have one in the middle) and the flywheels have a sleek, compact design, making each stride feel full and balanced.

While most elliptical reviews feel the actual movement is a little different than standard, the ProForm Crosswalk 8.0 Elliptical Trainer

is a great value if you want a long stride-length for under $1000.  With its 22″ stride-length, iPod hookup with speakers, and 20 personal trainer workouts, we feel this elliptical machine may be the future of elliptical design.  Warranty is 7 years on the frame and, like Schwinn, only 3 months on labor so if it breaks, you are coming out of pocket.  Overall, a great elliptical machine at a reasonable price.

Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer Review

Posted by Elliptical Review Site on under Elliptical Products, Elliptical Reviews | Be the First to Comment

Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer
schwin430

$600

The Schwinn 430 is your basic elliptical–perfect for those with a budget.  Sturdy and efficient, you know what you’re paying for with this elliptical machine.  If you don’t need dozens of workout programs and features, the Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer
is for you.  It gets terrific elliptical reviews on Amazon.com and several other well-respected experts.

The biggest issue is that the labor warranty is just 90 days, so you’re stuck if the unit breaks down.  Parts are covered for 1 year.  And the 18-inch stride length is comparable with other sub-$1,000 machines. User weight limit is 275 pounds.

Smooth CE 7.4 Elliptical Trainer Review

Posted by Elliptical Review Site on under Elliptical Products, Elliptical Reviews | Be the First to Comment

The Smooth Fitness CE 7.4 Elliptical Trainer
is the luxury, high-end elliptical trainer from Smooth.SmoothFitnessCE7.4

$1999 (sale)

This elliptical machine is aptly named because it may be the smoothest in town according to most elliptical reviews.  One of our favorite features of the 7.4 is the long 21″ stride–one of the longest strides in the elliptical industry. The long stride gives a smoother ride and is more effective for serious calorie-burning.  In addition to the longer stride, the heavier flywheel and magnetic resistance provide you with a smooth and fulfilling ride.  With the Smooth Fitness CE 7.4 Elliptical Trainer
, you know this machine will not break under you like some of the more economical options.  Also, the pivoting foot pedal takes stress off ankles and feet thus reducing numbness and pain after a long workout.  It has 16 resistance levels and 8 built-in workout programs.

It has a lifetime warranty on frame and brakes.  5 years on parts and 2 years on labor.  Not bad, eh?

NordicTrack AudioStrider 990 Elliptical Review

Posted by Elliptical Review Site on under Elliptical Products, Elliptical Reviews | Be the First to Comment

NordicTrack Audiostrider 990 nordictrack-audiostrider-990

$899 (sale price)

The NordicTrack AudioStrider 990 elliptical is similar to the Sole E35, but with a few differences. The AudioStrider 990 has an 18-inch stride length compared to 20-inches for the Sole.  The AudioStrider also has a powered incline adjustment rather than the manual adjustment on the Sole.

Sole has a longer warranty, including two years on labor, and it has a higher 375-pound weight limit. (325 pounds on AudioStrider.) Still, the NordicTrack elliptical trainer costs $300 less and includes speakers and an audio port for plugging in your iPod.

Conversely, there have been a few complaints about squeaks, back-ordered parts, and long service delays regarding this particular elliptical machine.  But, at a sale price of around $899, this machine is a great value.
